fmw: really, no caesuras today (type, type, type) except for eating couscous-mushroom salad and butternut squash on the patio while the pooch sunbathed at lunchtime. (smile.) but! i managed to be near my camera at sunset, so i snapped this photo just a few moments ago.

fmw: mid-morning sip by the big, open windows blowing cool air. snuggled under wool blanket (a bit overkill; it's arizona after all) reading a terrific book. one of the most comprehensive histories of food i've ever read. i'd recommend it above all other food books (history and otherwise), especially now! it's uncannily timely.

fmw: toasted thick wedge of rosemary + garlic sourdough with herbed goat cheese, chopped onion and pan-seared tomatoes (last of the season! sob!) with olive oil, chunks of garlic and a giant blob of pesto, melted in! my god, i love lunch.
